Dobri Dobrev is a 99 year old man living in a village near Sofia in Bulgaria. He lives on 80 euro (roughly 110 dollar) pension a month.
For decades now, each day he is traveling 25 kilometres to Sofia to beg for money. But Dobri isn’t begging for himself. All the money he has collected from begging he donates to orphanages which are unable to pay their bills. Over the years Dobri has collected and donated 40 000 euros (roughly 55600 dollars)
Some call him “The saint of Baylovo” (Baylovo is his place of birth) others “Dyado Dobri” (Grandpa Dobri). He represents all the good that a human can achieve.
